A Hongkong Tramways tram with a trailer in 1978. Single-deck trailers attached to the back of ordinary passenger trams were adopted in the 1950s. These trailers were built on a bus framework which proved problematic in slowing down its "master" passenger trams. These single-deck trailers would eventually be withdrawn from service in 1982.
